What happens if people who are not suffering from coeliac disease eat gluten-free?
Nothing happens because gluten is not an essential nutrient and therefore does not have to be ingested. Nevertheless, a gluten-free diet is not recommended for people without coeliac disease or other gluten-related illnesses. In recent years, the gluten-free diet has become increasingly popular and has often been described as "healthier". However, this assumption is not correct. People who are symptom-free should not give up gluten.
